Matéria do The Wall Street Journal detalha as peripécias do charlatão:
"...Wayne Shelby Simmons, 62 years old, a Fox News guest commentator [...] was indicted by a grand jury on felony charges, including lying about being an “outside paramilitary special operations officer” for the CIA from 1973 through 2000. [...]
In a complaint unsealed Thursday, the authorities charge that Mr. Simmons used made-up credentials to secure government work as a defense contractor and to obtain related security clearances, including a deployment overseas as an intelligence adviser to senior military personnel.
The complaint doesn’t identify where Mr. Simmons worked. But on multiple biographical accounts, Mr. Simmons said he served as senior intelligence adviser for the Counterinsurgency Advisory and Assistance Team at United Nations International Security Assistance Force headquarters in Afghanistan.
The Annapolis, Md., man, is accused of lying on national security forms, claiming that his prior arrests and criminal convictions were directly related to his intelligence work with the CIA, and that he had held top secret security clearance from 1973 through 2000.
With those false credentials, the authorities charge, Mr. Simmons secured temporary secret security clearance and was hired by a defense contractor as a “human terrain system team leader,” as part of a since-shuttered U.S. Army program that embedded social scientists with the military in Afghanistan and Iraq as cultural advisers.
In biographical accounts, Mr. Simmons said he had come out of retirement in 2008 and trained as leader of a human terrain team that was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan. Mr. Simmons didn’t complete the training and wasn’t deployed, according to the complaint.
He again submitted the false credentials and his experience as human terrain team leader to secure the job of senior intelligence adviser..."
1) que ele poderia executar um plano para destruir o ISIS em uma semana;
3) que o FBI realizava "background checks" ruins;
