O Mossad está envolvido em operações de inteligência improváveis e realmente fantásticas... mas a desinformação iraniana provavelmente exagerou dessa vez: supostamente o serviço secreto israelense foi acusado pelo Irã de provocar o tumulto mortal nos arredores de Mecca para abduzir oficiais iranianos.
As fontes iranianas remontam a uma agência de notícias denominada "al-Nahrain-net", e seriam supostamente baseadas em relatórios preliminares de "alguma inteligência européia". Tal reporte preliminar indicaria participação de agentes israelenses e sauditas no tumulto que ocasionou quase 800 mortes e mais de 1000 feridos em um ritual de apedrejamento de pilastras que representariam o demônio. Obviamente, Arábia Saudita e Israel são os maiores adversários regionais do Irã.
A matéria da Salem-News informa seis potenciais vítimas:
"...According to this report, the former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Ghazanfar Roknabadi, is believed to have kidnapped in the deadly stampede. Mr. Roknabadi is considered an eminent member of the Supreme Leader's office staff and a figure who is well-informed regarding the secrets of arming Hezbollah by Tehran. Ali Asghar Fouladgar, the head of IRGC's institute for strategic studies, is also identified as missing. Hussein Danesh, Fo'ad Mashghali, Ammar Miransari and Seyyed Hasan Hasani - all members of IRGC or Iran's Supreme Leader's office for the pilgrimage, are declared missing..."
A agência iraniana Tanseem replica a mesma notícia. O website Breaking News Israel apresenta a versão desta última fonte iraniana:
"...The reason Tanseem pins the notion that the stampede was an Israeli-Saudi collaboration on information in the Western intelligence report indicating that “it is impossible that Mossad agents could carry out such an operation without coordination with Saudi intelligence, and perhaps with the assistance from one or more Western intelligence services.”

Uma avaliação particular: desinformação pura, e provavelmente de jornalismo sensacionalista tendente a teorias da conspiração, desvinculada de qualquer inteligência efetiva.
Rápida pesquisa demonstra que a própria agência oficial de notícias iranianas (IRNA), replicada em agência de notícias Albawaba, após semanas de desaparecimento, confirmou a morte de Ghazanfar Roknabadi no tumulto de Hajj.
Imputar as responsabilidades de um acidente multitudinário historicamente recorrente nas festividades islâmicas a inimigos clássicos é uma forma de justificar os fatos, deixá-los mais aceitáveis - ou mais comerciais, no caso de um jornal sensacionalista.
